Ankle & Knee Injury Prevention / Rehabilitation

Poor balance ability has been significantly associated with an increased risk in ankle injury in a number of sports. Balance training, as part of a multifaceted intervention has been shown to reduce the number of ankle or knee injuries in recreational athletes. A recent literature search by Hyrsomallis revealed that most cohort studies found a significant association between poor balance training as part of an all round rehabilitation programme have resulted in significant decrease in lower limb injuries.
