Hip Musculature

In addition to lower limb rehabilitation and training, use of the BalanceMaster™ may be beneficial to the hip musculature. The effect of balance training on hip muscle strength and proprioception in healthy adults was investigated by Levitt. Hip musculature is intrinsic to everyday functions. The study showed significant increases in hip flexors (right muscle), and left and right extensions and left and right abductors. The authors conclude that the BalanceMaster™ devise “may be used effectively to increase hip muscle strength and to promote function in subjects with general weakness or following a specific injury”.
